Tropical Storm Karen has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. TS Karen isn’t expected to strengthen into a hurricane at this time. Karen is expected to make landfall on the southern tip of Louisiana, and again in the Mobile, AL / Pensacola, FL area in the early morning hours of Sunday October 6th, 2013 as a strong tropical storm with estimated sustained winds of 70MPH. Tropical Storm Watches and Hurricane watches are in effect now for the Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida Panhandle coastline.

FOR OUR AREA:
The remnants of TS Karen are expected to pass over the Carolina’s Monday, bringing with it heavy rain. The main threat with this storm will be large amounts of rain with flooding.
We are keeping an eye on this storm and will update as needed.
