Drastic temperature changes are enroute to the area today/tonight. A cold front will push through the area this afternoon and with that the chance of storms with high straight line winds are possible. Here is what the NWS has to say
A LINE OF RAPIDLY MOVING THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TO CROSS THE
PIEDMONT THIS AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF WEAK INSTABILITY AND
STRONG SHEAR COULD LEAD TO A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH
DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS.
There is also a wind advisory in effect for the Piedmont Region until Thursday afternoon. This also has increased the fire danger.
WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT…
…FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
