2014 was a great year for Charlotte Regional Skywarn!
We ended the year with a total of 375 weather reports given to GSP, with well over 250 statements read. We had a Skywarn net almost every month last year where we had total of 762 stations checking in with us on the air. Those nets ran for over 103 hours total for the year on the air.
Take a look at this graphic. These are some of the storm reports that came from NC in 2014. A lot of those reports came from our valuable spotters right here in the Piedmont! A huge thank you goes out to all of the Piedmont Spotters for your support in 2014 and we look forward to working with all of you in 2015 and beyond!
As we look at our goals for 2015, we are going to again start up our Weather Alerting Email System. Billy Irwin K9OH, has procured more equipment for this service and has it running full time now on the server. It’s reliability should improve. While this is a great service that we are providing, and IT IS FREE, please make sure you have a working weather radio for a primary method of notification.
Again, thanks to everyone and to all of our NCO’s for a great year. I can’t do this without you guys! THANK YOU!
